broken egg, loved

Do you ever feel like you are like a little egg that has fallen from it's nest, hit the hard ground and broken? I encountered one of those eggs today. It was beautiful even though it was broken. It's color was still brilliant and it drew my attention. I asked God to come close to me today. My heart felt a bit like the broken egg. After spending time outside my heart was lifting but what really did it was when I got back home.

My friends David and Shannon are moving. They are my neighbors from across the street. Ever since I moved onto Mechanic St. they have been a real light in my life. Their cheerfulness is contagious and it has brought many smiles to gloomy days. Luckily they are not moving far, just to the other end of the street, but even so they won't be right there. Shannon won't be there to bounce across the street to ask how I'm doing, or share garden advice. So I decided that since they are working hard to get their new house ready to move into that I would invite them for supper.

Soon we were eating and enjoying talking. God was right there. They began to minister to my heart just like I had asked God for this morning. For the next 2 hours we talked about Calvary. My heart was drinking it in and I began to realize that God was answering my prayer. He knew just what I needed and although David and Shannon had no clue, they were being used by God in a very special way. A couple of times I felt tears forming when I started to think about what God was doing right then to encourage me.

After they left those tears flowed from my eyes in gratitude for how much God loves me. Tonight I felt the love of Jesus through David and Shannon and I pray to never forget that. God has been good to me and I love Him with all my heart!

Melanie, God is so awesome to give us just what we need when we need it. I can't help but think he must smile every time he orchestrates a special little event that is going to touch our hearts and souls because he knows what a difference it will make to us. I am glad you had one of those little events. Again, the pictures are absolutely awesome.

Very cool pics. I was there!! I enjoyed it very much...you can feel very close to God out there...my parents & I had our lunch/dinner, after our trek, out on the lawn of one of the hills back on the path that you drive by when you first enter Fernwood. I told them it felt like Eden almost. We forgot about the hectic & crazy world we call our everyday lives for just a few moments. Awesome!! I'm so glad you are experiencing God in such a real & close way!! As Esteban & Tara would say, "Amen!" We need to go together soon! My parents bought the pass so I can use it. :) Love u sister.
