LIFE IS
10 % what happens to you and 90% your response... " Lord help me to respond like you would at this moment.." This is a prayer I have been praying a lot lately. I desperately need Jesus Christ to live in me more than yesterday and more tomorrow. Today I am asking God to reveal His heart to me. This quarter the Sabbath School lessons have challenged me and greatly encouraged me. There is nothing like passing through the furnace of refinement. OUCH! But the neat part is looking back watching Jesus be in there with me. Have you ever felt like you are on the brink of something huge? Today is one of those days for me. I want so much to live my life for Jesus and to follow where He goes. Maybe that's what you want. Let's pray for each other.

Just some thoughts.
"In the experience of the apostle John under persecution, there is a lesson of wonderful strength and comfort for the Christian. God does not prevent the plottings of wicked men, but He causes their devices to work for good to those who in trial and conflict maintain their faith and loyalty. Often the gospel laborer carries on his work amid storms of persecution, bitter opposition, and unjust reproach. At such times let him remember that the experience to be gained in the furnace of trial and affliction is worth all the pain it costs. Thus God brings His children near to Him, that He may show them their weakness and His strength. He teaches them to lean on Him. Thus He prepares them
to meet emergencies, to fill positions of trust, and to accomplish the great purpose for which their powers were given them." {AA 574.2}
"There is no danger that the Lord will neglect the prayers of His people. The danger is that in temptation and trial they will become discouraged, and fail to persevere in prayer." {COL 175.1}
"He who dwells in the heavenly sanctuary judges righteously. His pleasure is more in His people, struggling with temptation in a world of sin, than in the host of angels that surround His throne." {COL 176.1}
Ya know, I have staff worship this week at school and have been talking about prayer everyday. I wasn't sure what the topic within prayer would be for tomorrow...but that was before I read your blog :) "Lord help me to respond like you would at this moment." That is a prayer we all need to be saying. We may be Christian, but how many times does something happen and we react in a way that is unkind to someone else or unchristian in general. I'm not saying we are all going around shouting profanity or telling someone they aren't worth it...but sometimes it's the really tiny things we do or say that make a huge impact on someone. Thank you for sharing that prayer. And yes, we should not only pray this for ourselves but those around us as well. Have a blessed day!
I pray that your day of fasting brought you nearer to Jesus...really that's what we all need! He's the only One that is going to make it all better.
Love you sista.
thanks Elizabeth. I know it's true. only God CAN! love ya too!!
That's what I want too! I am praying for you that God will reveal both Himself and His will to you. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11.
Christ by His human relationship to men drew them close to God. He clothed His divine nature with the garb of humanity, and demonstrated before the heavenly universe, before the unfallen worlds, how much God loves the children of men. ~AG 53.2
Have a good one!
You're right - 'tis so important to be surrendered every moment, consciously, so that we will become more and more like Jesus. Praying for you!
Hey Melanie!
Happy Veggie Turkey Day!!!! :)
Just a note of interest: LaTanya and Tehani have set up a group on facebook for Benton Harbor Street Ministries - AU out-R.E.A.C.H. members. If you or Heidi are interesting in joining, that would be awesome!
