No joke!...She was back in 1 minute flat or less. Maybe they do have lines of the same salad in the back but she was fast. And no sooner had she set the salad down and I saw the lovely little pieces of chicken still nesting atop my salad. HELP! I was annoyed at that point. Luckily my boss chimed in with some encouragement about his daughter being vegetarian for animal rights reasons and would want her salad remade too. So he called the waitress back over and I imformed her of something she already knew. " Um, there is still chicken on my salad. In fact, it's clear to me that the cooks just "picked it off." She gave this real surprised look and took my salad again. Meanwhile everyone else was enjoying their food. One of the assistants always reminds me that..." you don't know what you're missing." ( refering to meat).
So finally my hopefully new salad arrived and it tasted great. The last few days I have been reading about Daniel and yes I realize that that meat was offered to idols but I still believe that there had to be some health benefits that the king noticed. Then tonight I went to a health class at our church and the topic included fiber. I couldn't help thinking about the reality that a lions intestinal system is something like 8 ft. long but ours is 30 ft. long. Think about it...we are much better off eating things that will move right along because it has to cover a longer distance. Anyways, we were not made to digest animals. I'm trying not to crawl on top of my soap box so if any of you are just dying to bite into a juicy something right now just remember that it will probably be in your system for up to 3 days or more. Plus your cells love fresh food... so go have a salad!

For those of you who are asking if my nephew has arrived yet... no he hasn't, but you can believe that when he does that this website will be dancing with announcement and praises to God for the life of that precious little baby.
Also, to the prayer warriors out there. Please pray for meetings being help in Stevensville right now by my wonderful parents. God is blessing them tremendously! The people are excited and learning new things. Today my dad spoke with power about how Jesus is bringing peace and freedom to hearts. My mom also encouraged people to live a healthy lifestyle by drinking water and lots of it! God has really given my parents a special ministry so if you could pray for them and for their protection from the enemy that would be great. God is so GREAT!

My dearest Melanie...all I am going to say is that yes, some people should not eat so much meat. But don't forget to look at the flipside of things. Do you see how much veggie meat some people eat??? Especially Adventists. That is most definately unhealthy. Plus, just becuase someone eats meat it doesn't mean they don't eat their salad :) With all my love, Kimberly
Isn't life great! Rabbit food rules...along with rice & beans and pluthera of other tasties.
I for one am glad I'm not a carnivore of the real McCoy or a frequent participant in the consumption of the vegi-McCoy. Nothing like hearing those Big Franks squeel!
Kim, love you too! I agree with your opinion on the vege meat thing. And I had that in mind when I wrote what I did. I knew this would get some comments going and also I do believe in what I wrote and I for one need to eat more salad. Anyways, thanks for sharing your honest ideas on the topic. I know I can count on you for that. :)
Paeter, Big Franks squeel,...true but remember that they don't count for salad! They are cooked and I hear they are being recalled right now. But once in a while they are great!!
Meat = the beast.
Vegemeat = the image to the beast.
That said, I did eat Big Frank sandwich for lunch, but also I had an apple.
I think I'd better go eat tofu and salad next time.
Well...uh...before I begin to expound the oodles of things going thru my exhausted (it was a long night) mind...I just have to say thank you for being so bold Mel! Stand up for what you believe and know to be the truth!! If people really love you for the person you are it won't matter what you eat or how you eat it! Especially people in a restaurant...who cares!?! I mean, that was a little harsh...let me try again...we should not be so concerned with what people think about us when we are living "right", especially a waiter(ess) at a restaurant BUT we should still maintain the character of Christ!!! Now, to the topic at hand, meat. I am not 100% vegetarian, I enjoy a baked piece of white-chicken from time to time or a nice white piece of turkey (preference over chicken) but I know from the little bit that I have learned that veggies, grains and nuts are better for me and my "digestive factory". I'm an animal-lover freak also so sometimes it disgusts me to eat meat, that's why I can't eat red meat but I agree veggie-meat is not the healthy way to go about the vegetarian diet! It's for people in transition. I'm sure we all could improve our diets in some way...I know I could...I just became a batchelorette so I'm just trying to fee myself period! I can't speak for others but no offense taken on this white-meat-eatin-princess!
Joelle, did you hear that B. Franks are being recalled for salmonella! I'm serious.... no more salad for you!! enjoy the lettuce friend... Happy Sabbath!
Hi Elizabeth, YOu are so cute! Thanks for sharing. White is better than red... at least that's what the health pros say. Anyways, I totally agree that we need to have the character of Jesus. Thanks for coming to my dad's meetings tonight. You are such a blessing.
