I hear the sunsets over Lake Michigan are better than the ones on the West Coast. Wow! That's pretty incredible considering that Lake Michigan isn't the ocean. Anyways, I am always so happy to witness the wonder behind each sunset and especially because they are all so different. That is just how creative our God is. This brings to mind the awesomeness of a God who so wants to recreate in my heart new desires, fresh thoughts, healthy motives and pure love. Last night I was considering how the enemy of our souls tries to throw us into the pit of muck and mire. Sometimes we fall in, sometimes we slip in and sometimes we jump right into the pit. So I was reminded while talking to a friend that it is important to stear clear of his devices. I want to keep my feet as far away from enemy territory as possible. The specific areas we were talking about included topics like jewelry, dancing and what I call "high octane" music. These are, for some people, touchy topics but really...isn't heaven cheap enough? It was fun discussing these things and I hope to continue to walk with God in such a way that He will have total sway over my mind. After all, it's a battle over the mind. The Bible says, " But we have the mind of Christ." ICor. 2:16. That means that we are completely equipped with what we need to fight any battle. So how do I keep the mind of Christ? I believe that this takes a strong belief in His promises over my personal life, it takes renouncing the lies of the enemy with the truth in God's word and it takes earnest prayer. God is so awesome! He is deserving of more praise from our lips, He has paid for me on Calvary, His blood has secured my destiny and I am a child of the King of Kings. I hope and pray that today you will open your heart to more of God's greatness, that your mind will be filled with Jesus. It's all about Him!

You are right that people need to focus on God more instead of how we look to others...whether in our appearance or actions. It is a tough lesson to learn in today's society when temptation is all around us. It always takes time to get out of the pit once we have fallen it. Isn't it amazing though how patient God is. He is working with us that whole time to get us out, clean us off and help us start anew. What an awesome God we have! Thank you for your thoughts :)

This reminds me of Romans 12:1&2. I think it comes down to moment by moment laying our minds, hearts, and bodies upon the alter. We are to be a living sacrifice. Romans 8:12-17

Yo se' que ese pensamiento vos expresaste hace ya un mes, pero yo tambien quiero comentar. Justo hoy creo que yo estoy por fin en un lugar de emociones pacificas donde puedo realmente tragar lo que estabas sintiendo. El pasado es el creador de nuestros temores. Para mi, es "el pozo de los temores del pasado." (Casi suena como "el arbol de la sciencia del bien y del mal"--pero diferente!).
Y si, cuando yo enfrento una seria situacion nueva, con esperaza de un buen futuro, es como el pozo me quiere seguir y tragar, y yo le grito, "NO! Tu queda allaaaaa'!"
Asi que, si es un tema de los emociones, como el bailar, la musica, o las relaciones entre personas, ese tema nos deja en un lugar donde estamos vulnerables a los sentimientos. Estar en un lugar vulnerable no es malo, porque tambien ese posicion nos da la oportunidad de crecer con Jesus mas alla' del pozo. Y por la gracia y el poder de El, ya crecimos, y crecemos! AMEN!
