So here are the before and after pictures. The green porch has been violently removed and things look much better now. Actually my neighbor Shannon and I had a great time ripping into that thing with hammers, saws, crow bars, ratchets, and a whole lot of sweating gurrrr....strength. Well anyways, we were working for 2 1/2 hours on that thing and finally it came off. So now I have a pile of porch waiting to be taken to the trash. Then yesterday we went to Home Depot to obtain some soffet (sp?). That was a first and much more tedious. Overall it was a great time and good experience. I think we will tackle the fence next. Anyone up for digging cemented poles out of the ground? Don't all jump at once!

WOW! That looks really nice, Melanie! It really is like a facelift for the house! I can't wait to come and see it... although I don't know when I'll get down there again...:( Hopefully soon! Or maybe you can come up here!!! Good IDEA! Heidi
thanks Heidi. I hope to come up there soon.... :)
Yes! Three cheers for Melanie and Co. - looks great.
Alright(change of topic) Melanie and other L.E.'s - I just met an interesting couple... here's there story... prior to dating each other (don't worry the story gets better) they both felt convicted to canvass. The obstacles they confronted were the houses where they were at were too far apart to walk to and neither one had a car...but he did have a John Deere front loader tractor... and so house to house they went.
Just my "comments" :)
I love it!!! The porch now matches the cuteness of your house. I must come visit again. Thumbs up for your hard work!
Name that porch!? After living in the area for 5 1/2 years I wouldn't know picture #2 all by it's self (and I'm just across the street). Even with the latters I can figure out picture #1. Looks Grrr-RATE Melanie! If I must say so myself. Gotta nother project just let me know. You've go the house, I've got the tools.
Gorgeous work, ladies. I'm gonna have to drive all 4 1/2 miles across town to see this new sight.
Props to Shannon and all her tools. It's true, I could not have done it without her. It's the fence next neighbor!
I GOT MY SHOVEL!
I have 2 shovels & I am glad. You have no shovel and that's to bad. I share my shovel for I love you. And that what Jesus want me to do. (this is a song I use to sing in Sabbath School as a child)
good deal Shannon. I remember that song too
