Mauri the dodo bird from Mauritius. In May he was rescued from his island home to live in Berrien Springs,MI. The reason: the Dutch were out to eat him (yum yum). However, it was told that this actually happened many years ago and that no dodo bird remained. Well, Mauri made it safely on his long trip from Mauritius to Madagascar, then to United Arab Emirates, through London, and finally to the United States of America. wow!We have to cut this report short to tell you that last night there was an attempted hanging of Mauri the dodo bird. Fortunately it is believed that he was only hanging from the venetian blinds for about 5 minutes. He did suffer minor neck and spinal injuries due to the strain of the string but seems to be recovering quite nicely. In fact, he
hasn't said a word since it happened or since he arrived here for that matter. Investigations have shown that there may be some Dutch "wannabees" in Berrien Springs. For some reason the FBI doesn't want to get involved with this one. Oh well.Fine Print: Reality statements have been released revealing that this nice little wooden souvenir from the Island of Mauritius is doing just fine. No harm rendered. He seems to hold together even after being vibrated off the piano several times, thus his relocation to the other side of the livingroom. We hesitate to mention the fact that he had to get restrung for the picture.

I've met Mauri, the dodo and he's really nice. Why would anyone want to hang Mauri? Melanie, if I was you I would be on the look out for any suspect and report it immediately to the AU cops. This could become a national crime problem. Since Mauri is the only dodo bird known to be here in the states, it would be advised to avoid extinction. Good Luck!
All I can say is "Hang in there Mauri, if anyone can, you can!" I have a feeling you'll be no worse for the wear! This Dodo has proved himself in destructible... "Hip, Hip, Hip, Hooray for Mauri!"
Maybe you should take Mauri on a little vacation since life seems to have gotten a bit stressful for him in the last couple days. Mauritius would be the perfect place to take him and using our quick service, we could have both of you here within days enjoying our beautiful ocean front villas and beaches.

Mauri Senior was spotted swimming across the Indian Ocean towards Madagascar. It is suspected that he is fleeing from an Animal Rights Movement (ARM), otherwise known as the "Deadly Arm" by most endangered species. There is uncertainty as to the distrust and fear between both parties.

Hey, don't talk meanness about Dutch folk. Remember, I'm half Dutch. AND I haven't been at your house since last Friday night. So not all Dutch folk are bad. I have a feeling that Sarah Horne had something to do with this. Either that or Mel Tow herself made a nearly fatal mistake (for the dodo) while ripping out a concert on that piano...
